About this printable
Feelings check-ins fail when there are twenty emoji. This page has six faces: glad, okay, sad, mad, worried, tired — enough for a school morning, not a diagnostic manual. Circle one. Write because. Write how a grown-up can help. Set a time to check in again so the feeling is not left on the table like a spilled backpack. Use it after school before the snack negotiation. Original faces, no licensed characters. Keep a copy in the quiet-corner folder. Short sentences are allowed. Inventing a new feeling word is allowed. If they want to show a message, look together, then put the device away so the check-in does not become a scroll. Print two: fridge and backpack folder. Date the top so you can see whether Tuesday's mad is still Thursday's mad.
