Food pages work after grocery trips when they spotted the real thing in the cart. Trim nothing. The border is part of the page and gives kids a frame when they hang the art. If a kid hates staying inside lines, praise the color choices anyway. This is play, not a test. Shell one color, fillings mixed. Let them invent salsa even if it is blue. Hang the finished page at kid height so they can point it out to visitors. Eat an actual taco later only if that was already the plan. No pressure.
